For the Love of a Tub

It's a fabulous rainy day! Right now I have my window shade up and can see the drizzle. We so need this rain after all that heat! I have a quirky little confession about my rainy day habit.

In our home we split up cleaning tasks like most families. I handle our laundry most of the time and Eric takes care of our floors. We have our set weekly schedule for dusting, moping and we all just kinda jump in on taking out the trash. But on rainy days I can't take my coffee/tea break outside -- I kinda roam our home looking for cleaning opportunities. I know it's weird (smiling and slightly embarrassed) but that is what I do.

Today was no exception. Our tub has a special spot in my heart (my darling tiled our main bathroom as a Valentines day gift to me one year). Summer's heat has been on and with all the company we've had there have been countless showers and so things get icky in there.

A fantastic new formula for getting tubs and tile clean:

1 2/3 cup of baking soda
1/2 cup of Castile liquid ( I used lavender for that oh so summer smell)
1/2 cup of H2O
2 Tablespoons of Vinegar

Combine all ingredients in a spray bottle or a jar. Apply to tub and tile and go after it with a scrub brush!

Remember to also check your shower curtain liner for mold and mildew build-up. If it is a problem then take it off the hooks and toss it in the washer. You won't believe how clean it gets!

That was easy and gratifying! Now if you want to take a romantic bath you can - cause you don't have to worry about toxic residues (joy kill) or icky grime (super gross). So hey maybe green cleaning does have a glamorous side after all.
